Hi Friends ,

Those who  spend time ( especially weekends)  in reviving their body and mind through  visits to places blessed with natural beauty , It will be  a good option to visit this hill temple @ Sholingur .  Sholingur is a classic example of a place where you will get calmness of a village , experience of a hill and peace of a temple.

Please remember there are stray monkeys  on the way to temple so be careful with your belongings. Do not carry any Plastic carry bags / Open bags. They will attack you to to snatch the same. It is advisable to carry a stick  ( you will get it at starting point - Nearby shops sell this for Rs 5/-) .

Avoiding Monkey attack:

Think about you and your belongings - Do not carry food, shiny jewellery, glasses, or toys with you . Monkeys are attracted things that shine, smell good and make noise,
Be careful if you are carrying children

If you are prone to attack:  If the monkey charges you, don't fight back. Find something to get in between you and the monkey- anything you have that works.
Running or showing fear will boost their confidence rather than causing them to back down.

Things to avoid

- Avoid smiling at them : In the mind of a monkey, showing teeth is a sign of threat and aggression. A misinterpreted smile may provoke an unnecessary attack.

Don't play tug of war: The primary reason that tourists are bitten by monkeys is because they do not drop something that a monkey has grabbed. Camera straps, backpacks, and water bottles are major temptations. Let go as soon as a monkey grabs something, chances are they will examine it and drop it anyway.

Don't offer food: Having food around monkeys is a bad idea anyway, but feeding one will attract many more that may take your refusal to feed them as a sign to attack.

Don't show fear: Monkey clans usually follow a well-established caste system with larger males being alpha.

Don't miss break fast at sholingur!

Don't miss to keep a stick while climbing up!

In short c and feel sholingur!

Happy journey !
